In my new works,I usually like to depict images of the Indian villages I have seen and traveled through.India is mainly an agricultural land and majority of the population who are engaged in cultivation and live below poverty line, particularly in the north and north – eastern parts of the country , have to put up with a feudal system. The condition of the farmer is almost equal to a slave.
It is the duty of an artist to recognize this problem and bring it to the fore.I am trying to portrait the image of these people who have no food, house, hope of employment outside the farmland. Those who are unable to cope with the circumstances are taking their own lives.Certainly these things should change.
As an artist ,I cannot change their lives, but I can address the problems of these marginalized people through my art.Portray their agony and draw the attention of the society which is busy with globalization, terrorism, infrastructural development programmes, improvement of the environment and educational plans which are not reaching the vast sections of the Indian people.
I am a painter hailing from Kerala India. I have participated in many group shows all over India and abroad which was conducted by many famous galleries. I have also showcased my works in metro cities of India since 1990. My works have been collected by galleries and individuals in India and abroad. I have won many mentions for my works from govt and non –govt organizations.
I am happy to declare that these works which I send with this statement are done by me. I would like to paint my own experiences and contemporary life of the society . Most of my themes depicts the life of the marginalized people who have been exiled from the lime light of the elite society. I think these experiences could remember the society that they would have been expressed their anxiety on this matter. If my efforts could make any change in the attitude of human being that would be the happiest things in my life
