About This Piece
From the Canadiana Collection
Each of my sculptures involves pivotal connections between concepts and tangible forms.
My non-figurative sculptures evolve from ideas on human plasticity; the invisible issues that demand consideration and debate. I resolve visual and behavioral patterns through an understanding of human nature. Specifically with portraiture, my goal is to incorporate
the element of time. My method of sculpting figures life size, relies on exact mapping of the subject's composition to capture both a likeness and a particular moment. Sculpting literal portraits is an engaging, personal and abstracted process of rendering human forms
and particular fabrics over a very specific anatomy.
