About the Artist

I've loved drawing since I was small. My grandfather was a talented seascape painter and one of my earliest memories is staring up at the beautiful harbour scenes that adorned the walls of their house in Devon.

I attended Chelsea School of Art, specialising in textiles, but it was in collage work that I finally found a way of building up my 'textile' textures on canvas. My choice of materials varies but the grounds are usually in acrylic with handmade papers, beads, weave, sand etc worked over or through. I've recently started working with mosaic and hope to now start integrating that into my work also.

I live in the beautiful town of Marlow in Buckinghamshire and now have a small studio here.

I'm a mixed media artist, working mainly in collage. My inspiration comes from many sources, but my focus is texture, depth and colour.

I've got a particular passion for layering, building up colour and density over time, the painting growing organically directly on the canvas.

As my work is very textural, it's often easier to appreciate if you can see it close-up or from a few different angles. I have lots of close-up photos which I can send over, please just email me and I'll arrange.

I hope that people find my artwork both interesting and decorative.
